My Dress: Oleg Cassini CT 229 (A Big Surprise!)
On a trip to PA to see my family, I decided to head to David's Bridal with a friend to try on dresses to get an idea of what style I might want. I also promised my fiance I would check out the place even though I had no intention of getting a dress there. As my friend and I sifted through the racks looking for non-lacy, non-glitzy, A-line dresses, I came across a champagne dress with ivory and beaded lace overlay. I laughed and said I thought it would be fun to try it on because it was so fancy. Plus, it looked and felt nicer than other dresses.
Long story short, I put it on and never wanted to take it off again. It has everything I thought I didn't want. It also turns out it is a discontinued Oleg Cassini dress so it was on a super sale. I went back a few days later with my mom and some more bridesmaids, and once I saw their reactions, I knew for sure it was the dress for me. I am still so surprised! But I'm also so happy! Lastly, my fiance is so proud that I paid so little and didn't give in to having to spend a lot.

On the Model
I'm getting the bolero modified to 3/4 sleeve. After shedding some pounds it actually looks great!

- I plan on having buttons put down the zipper.
- I will hopefully not need it hemmed.
- I have high hopes of getting a loop for me to put on a finger (not sure the technical term) until after my first dance. Has anyone seen or done this?
- I want a bustle wherein the train is not tucked under the dress. I'm still trying to find one I love.

My Shoes: Cole Haan Ceci Air OT Pump
I LOVE Cole Haan shoes. They have Nike Air soles, which makes them soooo comfy to wear. I have a herniated disc and can wear them all day long. I originally got the OT pumps, but they were too small so now I have a new pair.

My Veils

Mom's Original Veil
This is my mother's ivory lace elbow mantilla; it is 41 years old! Pam Moretti at Cameo Couture restored it for me. She removed the hat and added a comb. She also added beading from my bolero to the appliques.
My Fascinator
Pam Moretti took the flowers from my mom's bridal hat and combined them with an applique and beading from my FMIL's wedding cap to make my fascinator.
Jewelry
Found these earrings at a Tejani trunk show. My FI and mom helped choose them. I would have never looked at them if the designer didn't suggest them!
Bridesmaid Dresses
I have 9 ladies who range in sizes and who live in NY, MI, PA and MA. I was going crazy trying to figure out which dresses to choose. I realized that my main concern is that the girls feel comfortable and beautiful on the day so I am letting each BM choose her own full length black dress in any fabric except velvet, chiffon or crepe. I realize it may be kinda Bridezillaish of me since the wedding is in July. Here are the dresses the ladies chose.

Mother of the Bride: Mon Cheri 2900-2
My mom amazes me--she researched online for hours and found this dress. She found one store that carried it so we went this past week. They had the exact size in this color for her to try! It comes in a bunch of other colors so I was so surprised. It looks like a lighter eggplant in person. I love it!!
Mother of the Groom: Mon Cheri 110845
FMIL chose this beautiful dress in sage, which is one of her son's favorite colors. I think she's also looking for a matching birdcage veil/hat to wear since she loves hats.
